With movement analysis, corrective exercises and client education, Nicole is able to help athletes of all fitness levels improve their form and muscle activation for optimal performance and health.

MYOFASCIAL THERAPY

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

ACUPRESSURE/TRIGGER POINT RELEASE

As many of the muscles in our bodies also impact organ function, Nicole also implements Acupressure points into her sessions, to help relieve specific health complaints.

NEUROSTRUCTURAL INTEGRATION

A  very powerful and effective therapy which can be used to resolve a plethora of health problems, both acute and chronic, in a gentle, timely and safe manner.

After years of bouncing around jobs in virtually every rehab setting imaginable, Nicole started to wonder if she really could be an occupational therapist for the rest of her life. In 2015, while working for a pediatric practice, Nicole noticed the movement patterns she was seeing in some of the kids were very similar to patterns she had seen when working with adult neurological populations. Looking more closely, she realized the movement patterns were being caused by unintegrated reflexes. Nicole took her first Masgutova course for Dynamic and Postural Reflex Integration so she could help get these kids out of their patterns. In feeling the profound benefits for her own body, she fell in love with manual therapies and set out to learn as much as she could about our bodies and how they move.

While Nicole loved the new techniques she was doing and saw huge improvements in her clients, she felt stifled by the constraints of the high productivity expectations and micromanagement that come with working for someone else. Shortly after being told by her former boss something along the lines of “well, you don’t treat like 99% of other therapists”, Nicole decided to start Charleston OT LLC in 2016, so she could continue doing just that.

My goal is that my clients no longer feel like a victim of circumstance trapped in their bodies, but rather, they feel empowered to take control of their own health and wellness.

PUT YOUR BODY
IN GOOD HANDS

Our bodies are designed with an innate capability to heal.  So often, in our current medical system we are offered band-aid treatments consisting of medication and surgeries, without being provided a solid understanding of how exactly our body systems function to keep us healthy and balanced.   More and more, people are feeling failed by these current medical practices, and as a result,  they are looking for answers to their health outside of traditional medicine.  Many times that entails turning to holistic practitioners for guidance.

As a manual therapist, my intention is to teach  people how they can work through the tension in their bodies, by showing them what their body already knows how to do.   As people start to understand how all of the systems within our bodies are connected, they are able to find and understand the deeper meaning of their physical pain, and consciously work through it.   My goal is that my clients no longer feel like a victim of circumstance trapped in their bodies, but rather, they feel empowered to take control of their own health and wellness.
